I chose to evaluate the acting of Jason Dormeyer, who played John Worthing. I want to say first of all that even though the main points mentioned in this paper will be negative, the performance of Jack was quite convincing and carried out very well.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  The actor seemed very uptight whenever he was on stage. Luckily, being uptight works with the character of Jack. His jaw and his neck seemed to be tense during the performance. Jason’s voice, however, does not seem to suffer because of that. The fact that he is uptight tends to put me on edge in the audience. I started to feel less comfortable and get somewhat tense because of this.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Jason rushes too much. He needs to slow down and enunciate more to make his lines more audible. I don’t want him to lose any of the energy that he has, but I do wish that he would take more time to give more clarity to the words. A good example of this is the way that the line, â€Å"†¦while I’m in this horrible trouble,† is rushed trough. I believe that the line is in the second act during the muffin scene. Jack and Algernon were definitely friends that have known each other for a while. They were comfortable enough with each other to argue and tell faults, while knowing that they would still remain friends. Jack was also very clear on his relationship with Gwendolyn. She was obviously of romantic interest with him because of the way he saw to her every need. A good example is when she first walks in and Jack says, â€Å"you are quite perfect Miss Fairfax.† This is also displayed well when Jack fills Gwendolyn’s teacup. He jumps up with great haste when she hands the cup to him. I was confused on the relationship with Lady Bracknell, though. She was clearly Jacks superior, yet Jack acted somewhat indifferent and overconfident while talking to her about his childhood and social standing. I felt that he could have been reminded of his social standing at times like the â€Å"Good morning!† line. A key difference, which can be noted between Romeo and Juliet and Beatrice and Benedict, is the speed in which their relationship advances. Romeo and Juliet’s whole relationship takes place in a matter of three days whereas in much ado about nothing the audience gets the impression that Beatrice and Benedict have known each other a long time, perhaps having been involved in a romantic relationship some time before the beginning of the events in the play.In act 1 scene 1 Beatrice says ‘I know you of old’. To ‘know’ somebody in Shakespearean times often suggested you knew that person in a sexual context. †¢In contrast, Beatrice and Benedict appear to be in no rush to get married. Beatrice likens marriage to a five step jig describing the initial part as ‘hot and hasty†¦ and full as fantastical’.The words ‘hot and hasty’ suggest that Beatrice sees the first part of a relationship as passionate and exciting; the words ‘full of fantastical’ seem to be suggesting that this part of the relationship is almost like a fantasy, an illusion, not real. Beatrice could be suggesting that at first you don’t really know somebody and what might seem perfect at first may turn out to be a disappointment. This may ha ve been how Beatrice felt when she first met Benedict. She seems to hint that he has let her down in some way offering only a ‘single heart’ for her ‘double one’ , and that he won it with ‘false dice’.The illusion of gambling perhaps suggests that Beatrice sees a potential relationship a risky game and one she might not win. Considering this, one can return to Romeo and Juliet and how well they really knew each other when they decided to get married. His love for Juliet does not appear deeper and more real, yet how confident can the audience be that this love would stand the test of time

The Chemical Engineering

By the 2020s, the world is in our hands and the world population will be more than 10 billion. How can we ensure that the growing demands of this population and our environmental issues will keep intact for the next decade and century? I have always had questions about how to convert raw materials into usable products such as plastics. This spark ignited my passion for chemical engineering. This area of study combines math and science together and pushes the frontier of science and technology forward. Since Chemical Engineering is one of the most fundamental factors that underpin how the world works by understanding the key chemical processes of nature. The problem solving aspect of Engineering particularly attracts me. Seeing the transfer of scientific theory to world industry is something not only appealing, but intellectually stimulating. Throughout high school, I have maintained a GPA of 3.5 and above. Academically, I have always strived to diversify and take classes from a variety of fields. I earned an award for excellence in 3D CAD designing models. On the same note, I've recognized the value of new experiences as a form of learning in itself and as a result, I have participated in many community service trips. Some of the more memorable ones were beach cleaning and reforestation, which provided a hands-on experience to view how the world is changing. Moreover, I participated in an internship at Somdej Prapinklao Hospital, during which I was exposed to the intricacies of the medical professional field. I have also demonstrated leadership by managing the prom committee and leading the team in planning and organizing the event. I've been active in my student council and have served as the head of event management. In my spare time, I also use CAD to create a model plan for my friends in Robotics class and it actually worked! All these activities have improved my leadership and interpersonal skills, which have improved my personal qualities. Along the way, I have realized the importance of teamwork for the road to success and the importance of giving back to the society that nurtured me. Personally, I really enjoy studying new technologies, because I believe inventions improve the world and their diversity of use will become even more important in the future. Also, my commitment has shown that my knowledge in diverse fields will be further improved by pursuing the field of Chemical Engineering. Being a very dynamic and open-minded person, I see and have an interest in a wide variety of activities and disciplines. I can't be more assured of myself to say that Chemical Engineering is my thing! I'm attracted by the world of innovation in which new materials are being developed all the time. Especially, my curiosity also motivated me to look forward and beyond.
